Another view of the house with a front "yard" full of shoals! Lake Norman was dropped to low levels in the winter before the spring rains started so it was tricky sailing in some places, especially in shallower water (like Ramsey Creek, where my boat was docked). Sometimes those rains didn't happen in abundance, so I was glad my boat was a shoal draft with a swing keel, which gave me a warning bump before I got in real trouble (most of the time!).
