Caswell Series #7: Live Oak, Back Porch
"Caswell Series, #7: Live Oak, Back Porch" Gouache on Paper 1982
10.5" x 20"
This is the back door of the converted barracks, renamed "Live Oak" when it became a dormitory for campers. The old army bunks were still there - most nights were regularly punctuated by the thumps of campers rolling off the top bunks! Not a luxury hotel, for sure - but from the back door it was right across from the cafeteria. The ocean air made even cafeteria food taste good!
