Relics
"Relics", gouache on paper, 15.5" H x 13" W, 1978. Nostalgic look back at once-used objects from years past (I was still in my "Southern Realism" phase!).
The beautiful light and shadow play on the worn child's chair (my sister's) and the broken pots tied it all together - this was the back porch of that wonderful house we lived in during my early years as an artist. It faced west - great afternoon light and a beautiful view of the sunset.
